No high maintenance taste here..

thus far! Not even a shiny Ferrari detoured this little guy from being horribly upset while we were taming the locks for his first big boy haircut. His "do" wasn't a total mess just yet, but that sweet toupee/mullet that he had when he was a new little fella just had it so uneven and going everywhere :). On January 9th we endured the challenge, and it proved to be just as horrible as I had hoped it WOULDN'T BE.

Before January 9th, if you would have asked me if I had been to Sharkey's before, I would have lit up with fantastic memories of many fun times at Sharkey's. HOWEVER, I would have been referring to PORT ARANSAS, and the place of loud music and flowing glasses of fun! Again, another reality that I ain't a hip hoppin' kidless momma anymore. Instead of the Sharkey's that I have previously known to house bartenders and DJ's, my new place of admiration is the Sharkey's that houses the most talented cosmetologists I have ever seen! It didn't matter which way Brady moved, this chick was on him like white on rice. It made my anxiety go out the roof, but she got the job done.

We went prepared with a bowl of whatever the kid has EVER shown interest in! It mattered not one bit though because the second the chair was pumping up higher and higher, his lip pouted out further and further!

He would calm down a little bit from second to second, but when she even came close to touching the ears to get that hair, HE WASN'T HAVING IT!

I am hoping that the memory of his first haircut does not forever ruin us into a tantrum every time we go! There were so many things that I thought of AFTER THE FACT, that we should have tried. Where was our phones, car keys, etc.? They were drowning in our forgetfulness while we were trying to keep him settled down, which was a FAILED attempt! Oh well, it was like one of those times in a heated conversation when you are like MAN, I SHOULD HAVE SAID THIS, OR THAT.. (when we all know it's best that we didn't :)). Next time, we will have it concrete in our minds to hand him those things as well!
