No mine- Well we
made it quite a while without the good ol' MINE coming out of kiddo's mouth but
it reared its ugly head a few weeks ago! NO MINE! I have been trying to keep
from saying WHY to him because he is now saying WHAT? It is really funny when
he says it too! We call Brad if he isn’t at home at bedtime and sometimes when
Brad says that he loves him- WHAT? Haha, he does it to me too and oddly enough
it is when he is being told no to something. I have said things 4-5 times
before haha, he doesn’t give in :) and will keep repeating WHAT as long as you
want to repeat what you said. Heavens ;).
Pee in potty-
Well this weekend is the big weekend!
ITS POTTY TIME AT THE CONNELL HOUSEHOLD! 3 days of POTTYIN'! Kiddo
decided a couple of weeks ago that he needed to go potty while streaking
through the house that he needed to go potty and that he did! He doesn’t like
to sit on the singing throne that we bought him months ago, he sits straight on
the big ol’ potty itself. We have been letting him streak through the house
after bath time to give him some air time because kiddo developed a rash last
week that is kicking our booties, no pun intended. Well every night he will now
make several trips to go plop down on the potty and away he goes with pee'n AND
number 2'n. He really is just amazing as can be. Since last year I have had the
intentions to put in some potty training efforts over the Memorial Day weekend
and here he goes showing us that he is ready! Love it!
Patting animals-
Sweet sugar has this poochie lip scowl, sentimental, ( I am wondering just how
contradictory this sentence can get with my choice of adjectives :)) sweet, and
loving face that he gets when holding a stuffed animal and patting it like a
baby.
Associates paper
bags with fries- Brady Is no stranger to Mcdonald's. When he sees those golden
arches, the demands of yelling “EAT!” starts beckoning from the back seat. What
is even better is that he associates paper bags with food. For example, on mom’s
birthday we went to Taco Cabana to get breakfast tacos before I dropped him off
and the second we pull up to the window and the paper bag enters the vehicle,
you hear that little voice begging for “POT!” Why is he begging for POT you
ask, oh because that is what he calls FRENCH FRIES! Yep, I always knew that he
would be a genius and apparently he has made up an abbreviation for potatoes
that also sounds like he is screaming for an illegal substance! Knowing me and
my love of a good opportunity for some sarcasm, I get quite a kick out of it.
NO HONEY, MOMMA DOESN’T HAVE ANY POT RIGHT NOW.. NO HONEY, YOU CAN’T HAVE ANY
POT RIGHT NOW. HEE HEE! Anyways, it is quite entertaining, and I find it really
funny that he thinks that if it is a paper bag that there must be some
delicious and salty sticks of pot in there :). THAT GUY, I tell ya what!
Momma must admit that I fully use his love for Mickey D's to my advantage on the weekends... we do our weekly shopping trip at Wal-Mart because of their built in golden arches. A hashbrown and a sausage biscuit buys momma almost an hour of screech free shopping. I know, yet another trophy for mom of the year over here :).
Sings jesus
loves me- Well with all the Sundays that roll around and my widely used
expression of Brady and I are going to church to get some Jesus in us.. it
appears that that has happened. During bath time the other night I hear a
humming coming from my little “angel” that was somewhat recognizeable! I know
that song I thought, so often he sings a song he learned in school that I wish
I knew what he was singing, but I don’t :(. Well it turns out that he was
humming and then singing JESUS LOVES ME! So sweet! Kiddo loooves to sing! The
latest cute outburst was he started singing the “CHOO CHOO SOUL” song which is
a little rap skit that they have on the Disney Channel, so cute I tell ya!
Little bruiser
is floating between 30 and 31 lbs.! We also measured him the other day when we
took him in for that red bootie and our mini giant is at 37 inches tall :). I
love it! When I hold him though I swear he is going to kick a knee cap pretty
soon. I will hold him even when his feet drag the ground, we will look funny,
but he will never be too big for some cuddlin’! As much of a momma’s boy as he
is I hope he never denies my lovins :).
Paypay! Oh do we
have an obsession with our cousin Payton! He luuuhhuuuvs her MUCHO! He has her
roads to her house memorized, which might I add that we pass them EVERY morning
on the way to mom’s. There have been times of grumpiness that he has thrown a
full out fit when you turn away from turning down her road while screaming
PAAAY PAAAY! PAAAY PAAAY! Oh the fun we have :).
First storm- I am
sure that I have posted before about my fear of storms when I was growing up..
If there was a storm, don’t bother looking for me in my room, you could find me
on a pallet next to my parents bed where I was safest :). I have been OBSESSED
when a storm has come through since Brady was born on helping him to not be
afraid. EVERY storm brought a huge amount of anxiety fearing that he would be
scared, and not wanting him to be scared. EVERY storm left me anxious.. and
that little guy never budged and kept right on sleeping as if it was his sound
machine. I swear I am so ridiculous sometimes. Well a few weeks ago a pretty
intense evening storm came through and with his questioning glimpses at me when
it would thunder and lightning, I realized that it was his first one while
being awake that really caught his attention! We were outside playing like we
do every evening with my little outdoorsman, all while the storm approached and
grumbled as it crept up. He was of course very intrigued with these big noises
coming from the area that only PLANES made noises from. So of course my goal
(obsession) of making him feel safe came creeping up inside, I said, WHOA BABY,
THOSE ANGELS ARE BOWLING!! He said, MOMMA BIG PLAAANNEE! HEE HEE.. THAT INNOCENCE
OF A CHILD, I LOVE IT.
Well it’s been
way too long, I have had big changes come my way, BIG WONDERFUL CHANGES. May 17th
I left my cubicle at Siemens for the last time. I gave an almost 4 weeks notice
(hence how far behind I am on this blog) and got my tail kicked the entire
time. I began working with a dear friend that offered me an opportunity that to
me is that of a once in a lifetime deal. (I think she reads my blog so right
now I am kissin’ her tail as she is my boss, just leave me be haha!). It truly
has been such a wonderful step for me and my family and career. Thought I would
throw that in there ANNNND because I am so freaking proud of it, here is my OWN
OFFICE, OWN WINDOW, AND MY OWN DOOOOOR! I love it so much!
I have SOOOO
MUCH to blog about going back to Easter but I will have to post here and there
so it isn’t infinity long, such as this one :). NOW FOR THE FUN EXTRA FUN
FOTOS!
My bathing beauty!
Well, the little suckers are making my baby boo look like he has polka dots!! Dang skeeters, Off is a must at the Connell paradise (backyard).
This might just be a poster size print for above the mantle with all of it's sweetness in this picture!
My bathing beauty!
Our new guilty pleasure is chunking the water house in the bouncy house, just may be the best ever.
My bubble lover loved him some bubble gun!
That was until we had a visit from our Marvelous Melle's and they brought him a BUBBLE MACHINE!
Lover's nervous quirk is shoving those hands in his mouth.. haha. Pretty girl= hands in his mouth :).
There was way too much action when it came time for Brady too eat.. so Auntie Jen took the plate and started chasing him around the yard handing him chicken nuggets haha, it was AWESOME!
Hiding from the chicken nugget lady haha!
Believe it or not, he wasn't sick or anything... but it was definitely a picture moment because snuggling and sitting still while those eyes are peeled is a rare moment under our roof.
MOMMA GET AWAY FROM MY COOKIE THAT PAPPY MADE ME.
So I have fallen into the INSTAGRAM hole of loooove!
We don't need no stinking baby swing, I got this even with a "pop" in hand :).
HOOOOLLDDD YOUUUU, he says, ALL THE TIME :)
Kiddo loooove his pappy!
He did fantastic at our first pool visit this year! He would hang out on the steps at the pool we were at and would get more and more brave, but not TOO MUCH. You know me though, I was still Mrs. Anxiety..
Bubble head :)
See Saw'n!
ANOTHER SNUGGLE PHOTO CAPTURE!
This was for his cousin Carson, let's just say that I was cleaning out the Expedition and had it sitting in the garage thinking that Brady has never really cared about unopened gifts or what not. YEAH, HE DOES NOW AND STARTED HAVING A MELTDOWN! From now on, gifts stay hidden so I don't have to do an additional trip to get Carson another one :). And yes, I know that saying No was an option as well. I stink at that, ALOT.
The scowl.. although most of the time it is a game with he and I, that I also started thinking it may not be a good idea because momma is aging and scowling is only going to intensify the creases! He loves to throw this look out there though!

UNTIL NEXT TIME!!!
