What have we been up to??

We hold hands.. even though our walks are a mere few seconds most of the time through our tiny little house, I am so in love with the feeling of his hand in mine. The look of his little hand reaching out for mine as I hold my hand out saying, Come on my little Buddy! Oh.. it’s one of my favorites!

We run.. and then we run some more, and there isn’t one thing that can keep him from not participating, not even a full on fit. He loves chase, like a whole lot! He can be in the best alligator roll tantrum and if I run from him, it’s as if a total new person jumps out of him and starts squealing in delight trying to get up off the floor to chase me!

We sing.. he is loving belting out some tunes! We get him going with the ABC’s by singing it first, then we say- YOUR TURN! And off he goes- A..B..B..B..B..B..B.. haha.. It’s the cutest thing and he will look at me so serious as he belts out the ABC’s in the same rhythm and most of the time the same tune, we just need to work on the letters :). When we go one letter at a time he will do really well with copying us with each letter. Of course some are better than others, but I am very impressed that I swear he says “W” which to me is the hardest!! GENIUS I TELL YA :). It’s so freaking cute, he will get going too, that is all you will hear as he will walk through the house trying time and time again to conquer this song. We are getting him to count to ten, and he will actually say TEN, after we ask him to repeat nine. I go to twenty with him sometimes but he still has some learnin’ to do with the double syllable words :). I swear the other night when Brad was singing “Twinkle, twinkle, little star” that Brady said “UP ABOVE THE…” and then it was muffled as he started singing when Brad was done! It’s quite impressive how fast the little guys can copy a sound that we make!!

We Poo Poo .. haha, he actually told me the other day as he was going to his RR, AKA- the pantry- that he was going POO POO! Sure enough when he came straddling the air outta there, there was a fantastically strong aroma that came from him. I hope that is a good sign that he is going to be ready for potty training in a couple of months! Until now, I didn’t think he showed one sign of being ready! I know that “identifying” the act is a good step for them, we shall see!

We take some time outs.. and then some more time outs :). I started trying out a time out “spot” and it is working great! I tried it a couple of weeks ago and was in shock that he actually sat there, and didn’t move from our rug at our front door. We really don’t have many places that we can put him in our little matchbox house so I figured that was as good of a spot as any. This weekend he didn’t fuss while he was sitting there either! He gets the good ol’ 1,2,3.. and then most of the time away he goes! That was hard at the beginning to count to him because we have always counted while dressing him and he has counted with us 1..2..3.. as there are of course 3 holes to a shirt so we counted as we dressed him to try to distract him and his urge to run off. Well, now with counting to 3, you will go 1…2….. and then here he comes with a high pitch excited THRRREEEEEEEE! Oh dear, try not to laugh when doing that one.. I do have to say that he is making it a lot easiser not to laugh as the tests come more and more and more and more :). He loves trying to see just how far he can push ya! And yes, I am still a big pushover. Counting doesn’t do any good if you do it 3 times in a row haha… I am trying to get better with not giving him another chance if he doesn’t listen to the first 3 count.

We say Love You! It is getting more and more clear, I love it! He is also saying Thank You more clear, and you even get lucky sometimes with him saying it all on his own! It’s wonderful with having all of this love reciprocated that you have been putting into your sweet baby ever since you laid eyes on the sweet “positive” on the EPT stick :).

We blow our nose! Unfortunately, he is very intrigued in the way that he can blow his nose whenever he wants and then take however many “tastes” that he wants. It is so disgusting and I hope that that part ends SOON! Please oh please let it be just another phase that comes and goes with the new “skill” he has developed. On a better note, He will blow into the Kleenex a lot of the times that you ask him too if it gets runny! This is huge for me, and I can imagine huge with any parent because it is so freaking exciting that the nose sucker will be exiting soon from needing to be used! I have been lucky with him and my beautiful oddball will actually LET ME suck the caca out without a fight! But, of course as he gets older and “wiser” the tolerance is less and less. Be gone nose sucker! We use Kleenex now :).

We have visitors! Curtis and Jen came in to visit and it was so enjoyable! It has been a while since they have seen Brady, so it was quite a shocker to them how interactive he is and how much he has changed! The word of the day was NO.. and then NO.. and some more NO’S… haha! They video’d him while asking questions and every answer was NO.. Are you a big boy, NO.. are you a baby, NO.. haha… it was very cute. I told them we would try to work on “yes” by the time the next visit comes along :).

We share space with the pup… Had to know this shot was coming :). I am actually quite shocked at how he really hasn’t been intrigued with the kennel, but most of the time the door is closed so that could be why. This was his choice to go in the kennel, not a parent time out spot of choice hahaha!

We have more cousins! Introducing Miss. Addison Gayle! She was born on Thursday, October 13, weighing in at 7 lbs. 15 oz. and she is 20 ¼” long! Just beautiful as can be!! I am so excited for her being here! I really feel that with Payton and Brady being born so close together that I really didn’t get to bond and love on Paypay as much as I would have liked to because I had Brady to tend to. I am excited for having a new little lady join the family for us all to enjoy as she gets some baby time to herself! :)

We refold clothes! Lordy, lordy, lordy.. I am hoping that soon he will be tired of helping me pick up the 3 drawers of clothes that he loves to rearrange during “nap time” on his morning break. I thought the first couple of times we did it would tire him on ever wanting to do it again.. not so much :). He has gotten better because when he is doing this bit of fun, you can see his little head in the video monitor since it is above the dresser, but that is it. Well now I will talk to him through the walky talky feature on the handheld monitor and he will usually stop. More than not though he starts putting the clothes back in the drawers, so we have shorts with shirts, shirts with PJ’s.. 3T with shirts.. SIGH… Beggars can’t be choosers I guess :).

We paint pumpkins!! They came home with Addison on Saturday so Sunday I asked if we could come get Payton and Jackson to do some pumpkin painting. I figured they would enjoy the quiet time with some napping hopefully with Addison and we could get the kiddos out of the house! We had fun, well we had a little bit of this business-

but I really think it was from us getting his flu shot on Saturday morning, then we think he is taking a little trip down allergy lane because his poor little nose has been running like crazy! It’s clear as can be, and there are no other symptoms of anything else going on, so he may have had a little too much going on and didn’t feel well. But Payton and Jackson seemed to have a great time! And what artists the kiddos were!

Gigi even sat down to paint a pumpkin for little Addison! We will definitely be doing this every year as a fall tradition! It’s the tradition yearning freak in me coming out at this time of year!!

We give sweet kisses! He will even pucker up sometimes for a good ol’ lip smacker! Sometimes you still just get the cheek or the forehead with a MMMMMMMMM sound for MUAH! But the kiddo never runs out! He will go around an entire room, to everyone in the room, and you will hear him coming with his mmmmmmmmm, then you get to either kiss him or get a pucker kiss :) and then you hear the WWWWAAAAAA, MUAH! So dadgum sweet…

I am just ecstatic to have the fall season upon us! I could not be happier, the heat ticked me off for way too long this year! It’s time to get the winter scents going in the good ol’ Scentsy, open the windows, and let the baking and decorating begin!

No telling what he was trying to talk Pappy into :)

Gigi trying to prevent a Paypay meltdown which is a given when someone takes her baby!

The little aprons I got the kiddos were so stinking cute!

Brady loves Payton's locks! The first "cousin" bath hahaha!

MOMMA FINALLY GOT OUT FROM BEHIND THE CAMERA! EVEN THOUGH POPS GOT EM A LITTLE FOGGY :)

Last but not least, I can't believe that we have 2 months, 67 days, 1625 hours, 97446 minutes until it's Santa time!! Bring on the winter!! And one more LAST BUT NOT LEAST, we only have 1 month and 4 days until big guys SECOND BIRTHDAY!! Just crazy I tell ya!
