From the mouth of Sully on Monster's Inc....WHHHHEEERRREE'S THE BABY???

That is what I feel like here lately… what baby? We don’t have a baby? We now have a LITTLE BOY, who is changing into an opinionated, communicative, fit throwing, heartwarming, and loving LITTLE PERSON! So many times I have said this- MAN, I HOPE I DON’T HAVE A BORING KID, I WANT A JOKER, ONE THAT MAKES ME LAUGH LIKE SO MANY OTHER KIDDOS DO. Uh yea, WISH GRANTED, here is your child Mel, along with a bag of personality to boot :). He is killin’ us over here, but in such a good way. I absolutely enjoy every second with him and even find myself bearing through the terrible blah blah’s (it sure ain’t startin’ at 2, I can tell you that ;)) with patience that I don’t know where it comes from. I always enjoy him, and although I find him needing a bit more entertainment, I go back to the many stories that I have read that I store in this fat ol’ head. SO many stories that include a mother wishing it hadn’t gone by so quickly, wishing that they hadn’t spent so much time wrapped up in everyday life that doesn’t include sitting down and interacting with her kids. It’s so easy to do, so very easy.. I have found myself really putting a separation between myself and the chores that used to drown me with anxiety and worry. I do have to say that I am proud of myself for growing past my anxieties somewhat, and also embarrassed of some of the anxieties that I read back on that I expressed on this blog. I will literally say to myself, the dishes can wait.. go spend the thirty minutes that are left after dinner has been dished out, and baths have been taken- go play with your son and totally soak him in. He makes it easy, very easy as he is so addictive to me. I already look back and can’t believe the steps we have taken as parents, and the steps he is continuously taking to become a little person with a mind, movements, words, and actions of his very own. It happens so very fast, creepy fast I think.

Now on to what keeps our bellies jigglin’ with his funny self.

It’s funny what you don’t realize that you do, that a child quickly will point out to you. Brady has began saying WHAAAAAAAAT, and at the end of the AAAAT, it gets high pitch. Where in the world did he get that from?? That is what I was wondering until I took notice to my words of what I was saying to a friend one night while talking on the phone. I am sure we were talking some gooood gossip as girlfriends are supposed to ;), I noticed that in the matter of about 30 seconds I responded to her “scoop” with WHAAAAAAAT! As if I was sooo shocked or something! I was like, ohhh my gosh that is hilarious, he is soooo mimicking me. He doesn’t know it, but he has GREAT timing with when he says it too lol, although he is really “just saying it :)”. You will ask him something, like are you hungry? You will hear WHAAAAAT??? Coming from him like WHY WOULD YOU ASK ME IF I WAS HUNGRY, OF COURSE I AM! Such a joker.

The other day he just warmed my heart, and it all came about by just simply handing me a fruit cup, basically telling me to open the darn thing. WHEN DID HE LEARN TO TELL ME WHAT HE WANTS! It was such a simple gesture, but one that had me melting with the realization of the little boy that he is growing up into. We still have a way to go with further communicating about what he wants as the kid is on strike with saying Please! I mean, we can’t even get the Pl sound or anything. He still says “thank you” in his little ways, but as far as asking for something, it’s something of a little chimp talking to me, but instead of Ooo Ooo Ooo Ooo as a chimp would make, it’s Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm.. OVER AND OVER AND OVER lol.. It’ll make you batty real quick hahaha!

I guess the little guy got tired of running full speed ALLLL THE TIME, and decided that a less tiring activity would be to learn to go sit where the big people sit. Yep, he is a full on couch crawler.. He is doing PREEEEEETTY good with making contact between the bootie and the cushion and not using the cushion as a trampoline :). I see a teaching degree in his future, heavens does the kiddo love testing. He is already at the stage where you ask him to sit, BRADY SIT PLEASE… BRADY, ON YOUR BOTTOM PLEASE… BRADY DO YOU NEED TO GET DOWN… BRADY YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GET DOWN… the second you start walking towards him, he slides down to a sitting position hahaha. It’s so freaking hard not to laugh at him, I am not good at not laughing at all, BUT with all this terrible two’s business, I AM GETTING BETTER HAHA! It’s so entertaining to me, like in a “THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE ALREADY DOING THIS STUFF” kind of entertaining way. He is going to keep us on our toes, that is for sure!

He is getting VERY good, and sometimes downright clear, with repeating what you say. Every night after we are done reading books with his glass of milk before bed, we march to the bathroom and I chant, BRUSH YOUR TEETH, BRUSH YOUR TEETH, WEEEE LOVE TO BRUSH OUR TEETH (I know, it’s pretty unique haha!). Now you will hear him saying over and over “BRU A TEEF”, and I think it’s the cutest thing ever. It’s almost like he gets the “chant” stuck in his head or something because you will hear him saying it over the monitor when he goes to bed :). Such a sweet boy

We are trying to bring back the “arranged” marriage :). We have some very dear friends that have the most beautiful little girl, and her momma is convinced that these two are made to be together. Ericka is Dylann’s mom, and might be one of the funniest people I know. She sent me a message on facebook on Mother’s Day saying- HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY FUTURE MOTHER IN LAW, LOVE YOUR FUTURE DAUGHTER IN LAW- DYLANN LONG. Then on my birthday came this sweet greeting-  HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM- LOVE DYLANN LONG CONNELL.. hahaha!! It’s freaking hilarious! It freaking cracks me up!

So we had to do a little persuading :)

BUT, it didn't take long for the fire to spark ;) WUV, TWUUUU WUV!

Brady doesn't look happy that I distracted his lady with the camera, the little lady loves her some camera time haha!

Ericka and I think these pictures will be superb at their reception :).

We had his well check this past Tuesday, and he is coming in at a whopping 90th percentile for height at 33” long! He weighed 27.2 lbs. and is still at 75th percentile for his weight and melon (head size :)). He said everything looked great, so we will just keep scooching along with his healthy self :). The nurse even told us that as she was planning Dr. Travis’s paperwork for the day that she saw Brady’s name and was like NO WAY is he already coming to his 18 MONTH APPT.! I was like, YOU AIN’T GOT TO TELL ME NUTTIN’ SISTA! Fastest 18 months of this chick’s life! She was asking how many words he uses and I was like 5, 6, 10, I don’t know?? Then mom and I were talking and she counted TWENTY ONE.. Chatty Kathy (no pun intended mom) over here is really saying more then we stop to take notice of if you count how many words!!

One of those words is just the sweetest- BAAAAAAASSEET (Basset)!!!! Every dog bark, BASSET?? And takes off to go look out the sliding glass door, whether it is Clyde barking or not :). It made me think of my nephew Jackson and how every dog was a Bella (they have a dog named Bella), it was an aaaawwwww moment for me with Brady now doing the same thing. He is learning how to pet Clyde, and thank the good Lord Clyde is obliging quite nicely and being very patient with him. It’s crazy how that in turn makes me have more tolerance for Clyde.

He is doing really well throwing the ball actually! He will take it overhand, and with both hands really chunk it far… my dream is coming closer to reality and I am thinking about giving my 18 year notice at work since he will be making momma rich ;).

We conquered the haircut!!

HE DID SOOOOOOOOO WELL! The dumdum pop is my hero :)...We switched it up this time and I took him (by myself, to show daddy as a surprise!) to Cool Cuts instead of Sharkey’s! Sharkey’s you will not be seeing us again, sorry. It started out shakey as I get him out of his seat and in the matter of about 30 minutes from me changing his diaper to getting out at the salon, he leaked in through his diaper! He hates diaper changing tables, and we were running late (that is how I roll, I had to stop and get DUM DUM POPS OK haha) so I wanted to get in and check in so the changing table was our only option. He did great when I changed him, only giving me the poofy lip for a few seconds, so off we went to take on the clippers- THE ENEMY :). I asked the lady if I could pump up his chair up before he sat down because last time, that is what started the lip poochin’ out more and more with every pump. So we did that, I pumped it and sat him in it.. handed him a dumdum and started talking to him about what was going on. Well, it sounded like a torture chamber in there, but sadly I think that was our saving grace as that kept his attention. Watching other kids scream, how horrible is that that that saved my kiddo from being the screamer. Oh well, those 2 tots that were hating every second of becoming cuter and cuter every second, Brady was just intrigued. It was all about the clippers! I could not hear them and I was bending down right next to him.. it was AWESOME! That was the worst part of last time, and if you remember from my previous post, we couldn’t even bring them out at the house for him to play with and get used to them. He was TERRIFIED! He only gave a few cries when the end came and it was time to get his “chops” under control.. that folding of the ear will trigger the cry every time. Then she was spiking his hair and pulled out the hairdryer, yeah, that won’t be needed again in the future, but thanks. He hated the hairdryer’s guts, which I can’t say I will be working with him on liking it any time soon :).. He don’t need no stinking hair dryer.

Well I haven’t taken many pictures lately, but that is my fault, I thought I lost my camera. In fact, I went so far as to starting to think that my angel had stuffed it in the trash can!

And I have reason to be worried about that if I do say so myself.. aahhhheeemmm- PROOF (see below) ;)

I could pin point the last time I had it to the T, well to the T up until I could not find it ANYWHERE. One of the only good things about having such a small house, you don’t have many places to look for things. One of the MANY bad things about having such a small house, YOU DON’T HAVE MANY PLACES TO LOOK FOR THINGS! So, if you can’t find it- MOST LIKELY IT’S GONE. I didn’t think that it could be in a landfill until I was talking it over with Brad and he said, I hope he didn’t throw it away, or put it in the recycle bin in the pantry. I was like OHHHHHH MY GOSH, I didn’t even think about that! Well, I decided that that is what had happened, I had looked everywhere! I even called the restaraunts that we went to and asked if they had it, in case it dropped out of my purse or something. NADA.. Until we look over and Brady who was going after a ball that rolled under the couch was playing with something and it wasn’t the ball.. THAT SOMETHING WAS THE CAMERA STRAP! He found the freaking camera!! I was soooo happy! We did a happy dance yelling YAAAY! YAAAY! Poor guy, momma’s blamin’ ya and you find the “piece of trash” she is blaming you for :). Love him. I will take some pics. over the holiday weekend, but until then… momma has got some really cute phone pics!

Grammy & Man brought Christmas in May! They brought it over on Sunday, and for the record, last night (we haven't had a chance to pull it out before last night since Sunday) he was pushing the button on his own and speeding around the house! It's amazing how quickly they learn the way that the toys work!

Brady doesn't quite know what to think of the "o" face that Peyton has conquered! It is hilarious! From the looks of daddy's face, I think we see who taught her that face! hahaha!

OK, these next 2 pictures make my belly jiggle of laughter, they are HEEEEELARIOUS!

Eeeeespecially this one!

Brady looooooves Jackson, but in this picture, I think he may have been in Jackson's bubble juuuust a little bit lol. Payton didn't care.. smooshie face was way too fun!

The kids love this window at mom and dad's....

My phone takes suuuuch horrible pictures in low light.. raaahhhrrr, makes me crazy! BUT I think this picture is soooooooo sweet! Daddy and Payton doing the "surprise O face"!

Mom and dad hanging out with their "babies", atleast until October :).

Which I don't think that I have put that on here! Jeremy and Amanda are having another beautiful little GIRL in October! We are so excited for them and can't wait to have another beautiful Trimble baby!!

Until next time!! XOXO!
