I started this blog last Monday.. haha!
I was able to make this Halloween quite enjoyable... Even with a husband unable to attend a costume party we had been looking forward to for quite a while.. nor did my costume preparation get to be shown off…Even though the pumpkin didn’t make it on the front porch steps.. Or the 1.00 bowl that I proactively bought from my favorite section of Target (see price) didn’t get any candy in it.. or that we didn’t buy any candy to even hand out.. it was great.
After all the planning for Brad and I’s costumes for The Barton’s Bash.. Brad’s work came and tornado’d right through that plan.. it ended up being a teething baby with a 100 temp.. a late working husband, and myself who got to go enjoy the time un-costumed up on that Friday.. It was a bummer.. but the time with friends was very enjoyable.
Saturday.. I have been so pumped about Saturday….. We had The Miller’s come and visit us… Brad had no clue. We enjoyed a beautiful dinner at Steiner Ranch Steakhouse.. just the 5 of us.. they shared news with us as well that just made my heart about explode.. I find it so crazy how much excitement is intensified once you have an angel of your own, and then hear of another joining you on this amazing voyage! I just about want to burst with excitement as it seems that yet another season of babies is coming along! So many are expecting! I looove it! It was a fantastic visit by them.. we stayed up late into the wee hours just catching up and enjoying ourselves..
Halloween was an especially heart-warming day as we had a big breakfast with Jen/ Lyle and talked some more.. got a visit from MJ before she headed out and had our coffee/ chattin’ visit that we used to have :)… Baby Daddy made this… he was very bummed when the nose fell off right when he was done.. but I told him.. NO WORRIES BOO.. IT’S A SKELETON.. THEY DON’T NEED A DANG NOSE..:).
We then kept the warm hearts going and joined Jackson and Payton for a surprise visit to my parents so they could see the kiddos in their costumes! We then went to their neighborhood and trucked around the neighborhood with them. It is the perfect, perfect place to take the little ones! SOOO many kids and families out! So many decorated their houses, and sat out in their driveway to welcome and hand out candy.. It was very sweet and just felt homey.. Even Brady and Payton had a sweet little old couple walk up to them in the wagon and give them popcorn balls ;). God Bless Em.. Jackson was cute as can be and everyone loved his sweet little policeman costume! He had one lady stop him to take his picture! He was so funny.. he would walk up to the person at their house and just hold his bucket up.. like YOU KNOW WHAT I WANT.. PUT IT ON IN THERE. It was hilarious.. and even though he was shy with saying TRICK OR TREAT, he did great walking up to all of the houses! We had a great time! I can’t wait until next year when we have all 3 of them running ragged through the streets!
Momma, don't you think I can leave off that piece of fuzz on my head?
Ain't she the cutest little bee you ever did see?
OK now take it off.. you got your pic... Dad you will not talk me into liking this even with your smile!
Gettin' used to the fuzzy banana :)...
My hunkie and me...
This lasted about 10 seconds.. then the hat came off and necessary snack time commenced :).
We officially have NO VACANCY in the top 4 teeth spots.. they are all 4 officially through the gums and ready to take on the fridgedaire :). We are eating just about anything now that is safe for him to eat.. He loves some grilled cheese sandwiches! So far I am going to award those the “favorite food”.. He doesn’t take on to many other things as quickly as those in my opinion. I am still keeping baby food on the shelves just in case but I really try to get him to try what we are… I really hope he isn’t picky (like his pops! :)). Mom and I have started to introduce milk.. we are going to do 2 oz. milk / 5 oz. formula for 2 weeks.. ½ and ½ for 2 weeks and then 5 oz. milk / 2 oz. formula for 2 weeks and then I guess we are done! I can’t imagine not buying formula! I FEEL LIKE WE WILL BE MILLIONAIRES LOL!
He is loving so many of the “big kid” toys that we have! As well as loving the “big big kid (ours)” toys in the kitchen :). I changed the cabinets around a long time ago before he was even ‘on his way’ so that he could get into anything reachable… so far he loves it. All of the bowls come out…. spoons….. gadgets that are safe for him to play with.. And it actually keeps him busy, but in my sight when I have to do dinner.. so I love it too :).
Hopefully mom learned her lesson not to clean with bleach and a brown towel HAHA! Hate that I got that in the background! :)
OHHHH THIIIIISSSS IS SOOOO MUCH FUN!
AND I NEED THIS ONE.. ANNND THIS ONE... ANNNND THIS ONE..
Bath time is such a favorite time! We took him out of the blow up thing that basically just makes the tub a little smaller.. Now that he is mobile and steady and up and at 'em.. the tub is his. He does fantastic with it! I got him some good ol' Mr. Bubbles and he is infatuated with bath time now! He has always been so interested in even ONE BUBBLE and will try to pinch it with his first finger and thumb haha.. I kinda feel bad like he's constantly dissapointed that they never let him get one :). One day I will have to conjure up a good story I assume...

I am trying not to worry that my "almost" one year old has an eating disorder.. He has started this "gagging himself thing". Literally putting both hands as far as he can into his mouth and gagging.. He likes to do it to me when I am feeding him and sometimes he will make himself sick! It's just plain weird and freaky... Mom heard him doing it IN THE CRIB... I took some time out to read about it today and apparently it is "normal" (I say this in the loosest form of the word). Apparently this is a phase that some kids go through when they find the "sensation of that reflex". It kinda does make sense as far as the "timing" of him doing this.. they said that the reflex is commonly discovered when they are teething and getting those fingers in their mouth towards the back of their throat to chew on them. I just don't get how he knows to do it when he is eating! I know he is amazing to me, but come on.. haha.. So after reading a few ideas.. I am going to try the "ignore" route, but we will see.. I didn't read many but I did see success stories putting vinegar on their hands, lemon juice.. said it's not harmful one bit just tastes bad. Let's see if "ignore" will work as he of course gets a HUGE REACTION from me because when I see him purple and all of his veins sticking out it is just plain creepy. Anyways.. thought I would tell that lovely story :).
Readin' with pops!
I luuuuhhuuuuuv little feet like this when babies sit on them.. soooo cute!
Look how old he looks!!! Handsome little fella! I looooove his "kicks" (shoes) :).

Since I have been writing this post for 2 weeks now (ridiculous) I am going to end it here and I will post a new one later this week!
