BYE BYE CHANGING TABLE, HELLO BLANKET ON THE FLOOR :)!
No more changing table.. however, we are all getting quite good at wrestling the phenomenal human alligator that Bug has become. He has too many places to go, changing the diaper is NOT one of the places and he is in a huge rush to GET THE HECK OUTTA THERE! It’s just the DIAPER part of changing the diaper that KILLS ME haha! I don’t mind chasing him around… putting his clothes backwards to put them on him who is facing away from me… but THE DIAPER.. that is where it allll goes downhill. The second you try to raise his bootie to get that diaper on.. IT’S ON MOMMA! TURN TO THE LEFT.. NO THE RIGHT.. NO THE LEFT.. NO THE RIGHT.. haha.. so we said good bye changing table, hello FLOOR haha! So much better, atleast safer to me. What I was using for a changing table didn’t have sides so the little changing table mattress would slide around everywhere.. sheesh.
WHO NEEDS TO SLEEP, WHEN YOU CAN SIT AND PLAY INNNN BED!
I mean seriously mom.. who does that. I just woke up, turn off the flash!
He is slowly getting better, but it’s taking some time for nap time to happen now that he is going from laying to sitting, laying to sitting, laying to sitting, laying to sitting.. It’s so fun to do that he can’t let himself settle down to get some shut eye! Of course, my night time feedings and then laying him down for the night are going so good… He is just so wonderful… I feel lucky that he loves to cuddle at night after his bottle. I love that 30 minutes of quiet time that we get together.. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
You’re up early!! What a coincidence, me toooo!
So Monday I decided that, you know what.. this whole “I will get up before the infomercials are over” early in the morning deal I have been wanting to do- LET’S DO THIS.. Unfortunately so did BUG.. Swear, I got up at 530 (I know that isn’t horribly early, it’s a start! One day I am hoping to be sweating to the oldies in the morning as well!), got in the shower… enjoying the quiet knowing both of my boys are sound asleep dreaming away… It was just a peaceful place to be in my head. I get out… lotionin’ the crap out of my skin (please refer to the comments below about my MONTH O’ RASH, in which Caladryl has permanently made my skin look like a snow drift!).. I think I hear something… noooo, I am just hearing things. I had the monitor in the bathroom with me because I am a weirdo like that and Brad is lucky enough to go the deepest ends of the sleeping spectrum. I see the little orange lights go up a few ticks which it does that when there is a “noise” (for example, if the boy is a hollerin’ the “richter scale” is a lit up! The more orange lights, the more noise that is coming from that barred bed :).) This is onnnnnly one light though so I am thinking that maybe he is just getting “rearranged”. Nope.. I hear him start “huffin’”. This “huffin’” is not referring to the retarded new act that kids like to perform on spray paint cans to get a “feel good”. By huffin’ I am referring to the “Michael Phelps” swimming motion that he does on his belly moving his arms and kickin’ those legs quicker than Ralph Macchio that he does. When he does that he gets really excited and huffs in and out really quick pumpin’ up :). I heard the huffin’ and knew.. GOOOOOOD MORNIN’ SUNSHINE was ready to take on the day! Thank god I took that step to get up, even if it was to feed a kiddo a bottle instead of doing a chore or two that I had planned to take up my “new extra minutes”. Secretly and honestly, it was a good thing he did because now I am scared he will do it again and I WON’T have been up and then be rushed and running around like a banchee if he beats me up. A
BUT I DON’T WANNA BE FRIENDS!
Well, I think the basset may have lucked out and might start getting a pet here and there. He and I have been fighting like a married couple.. BUT.. Bug has decided that he loves him and that Clyde makes Bug so very happy. I can already see the BFF’ism coming… so I am going to go ahead and start working on myself now so that I don’t have a watery eyed little boy looking at me, angry that I am yelling at his friend and kicking him out of the house into the backyard… I mean look at this..
LEAN ON ME... WHEN YOU'RE NOT STRONG.. I'LL BE YOUR FRIEND, I'LL HELP YOU CARRY ONNNNN! (You know you can hear it in your head :) )
Horrible phone pic. but this is my point that him even walking by gets Bug alll excited!
Twistin' and turnin' trying to find his friend!
He just smiles at Clyde, and any kind of “action” whether it be a little itchy, licky, runny, walkey…. It doesn’t matter, if the basset is doing it, it is funny to Bug. It is actually sweet, and it really does make me happy as of course I have worried about how Clyde would be with his spoiled and honory self!SOOOO PPRRREEETTTYYY!
So the kiddo will find the tiniest hair that maybe Mr. Dirt Devil’s bristles weren’t quuuiiiiiite strong enough to grab. If it is the ONLY hair on a football field of long shaggy berber carpet, My son would gladly be so happy to go and find it for you. I swear, it’s actually kind of fascinating to watch him in turn be so fascinated with these long skinny things. I am thinking that my hair brush might be a good occupier for the time that I am trying to alligator wrestle him? Mom said he was sitting where some rays of sunlight were coming in from the window and the little particles you see… he was grabbing at them waving his arms around :).. He loves the details.. it’s funny since he has “learned” about this new way of looking at things and studying them, sometimes it’s like he thinks that he has something and grabs at his fingers with the opposite hand. The good thing is he gets verrrrry still when he does “locate” something, so it’s an easy give away to go grab it :).
LOOK BUBBIE! A BEEEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLY!
Well on Tuesday, we took in Bug for a follow up for this dadgum ear infection to make sure that the liiiiiittle bit of fluid that the doctor saw in the last appt. making sure the infection was gone, was indeed not getting “reinfected”. So we are waiting to be called, mom was nice enough to meet me at the doc. office with Bug because I had a conf. call that I had to be on until 30 minutes before the appt.. So the way the waiting room is, there are big windows with ledges on the outside, the chairs on the inside back up to those ledges. So, I am standing with him because sitting turns you into a merry-go-round as he wants to be every direction at the same time.. actually it doesn’t stop if you are standing, it’s just easier. Mom is sitting in one of the chairs and we are chatting.. This really big monarch butterfly lands on the window… So I am going over there to have Bug stand on the chair and be right by the butterfly. Well then here is this little lizard that is coming on the ledge! I am thinking WOW, this is awesome… even though Brady is like yeaaaahhh mom, don’t care so much. But he is looking at them, we are so very close, when BOOM the dang lizard JUMPS UP and tries to get the butterfly with Bugs nose not far from the glass. He was just looking like uhhh… I am so glad that he has no clue about the tragedy that he almost had to watch. HAHA! I thought mom and I were going to DIE laughing.. I was like OHHH DEEEAAR! Sorry kiddo :). Mean ol’ baby Godzilla Butterfly Eater!
MINI-MAN SECTION PLEASE??
22 lbs. 13 oz. at the last appt.
THE END :)
MMMMM TWIZZLERS!
Not much changing on the home front with yum yum’s… Although I was informed that he was introduced to twizzlers and pudding snack packs (Can we scroll up a bit to the 22 lbs. 13 oz. I was just talking about ;), wink wink!) with Grammy/man. Lord help us :)…. I am fine with it but that is going to be known as GRAMMY/MAN food so if it isn’t stocked when he comes over.. they can hear him boo hoo.. :) I already have my plan.. any kind of sugary junk food that is pointed out at the store will be kindly rejected by myself and I will state- ohhh baby that is GRAMMY/MAN food, we don’t have that at home remember? ;) I GOT THIS. This could actually really work out so that I don’t have to have it in my house and get a hiney as big as Texas… GIGI/ Pappy can jump on that train too if they would like hahaha ;). Brad’s parents (Grammy/Man) are known for their “candyland” drawer and the kids love it and know where to go to get it :). It’s actually pretty funny!
Honorable Mentions..
First off, sweet baby Jackson had his heart surgery, was so strong and is now HOME as of yesterday! Can you believe how amazing he is! I went up there on Tuesday, I think it was, and they were saying that the incision was already healed, he was off of his pain meds. and doing fantastic! It has just been such an eye opening experience of just how strong these little guys are! Just amazing..
OH and prepare for my 9 month letter to Brady next month.. get the Kleenex ready :). Especially with all that I have experienced with Jackson and this whole thing that he was put through, whew wee... my emotions are on fire :).
Look at this sweet bundle of amazing and beautiful baby!
This was the first time that I had seen him with those beautiful eyes wide open. This was on Tuesday, 8/10
8/10/10- First time momma was holding him! Speaking of amazing, and strength.. she is pretty amazing herself! Been through so much!
He looks like a whole new kiddo with those eyes open!
First day of having a bottle too since surgery! He drank that bottle in like 2 minutes! Hungry boy!!
Going home!! This was yesterday- 8/12/10... got to go home! Sorry the pic is so small... I stole it from a pic Grammy sent me :).
Reading.. I know, I know, I thought it was pretty amazing myself.
I don't really like the whole idea of taking pics. when their little feelings are hurt, however, Throwing fits at dinner time- that allows for pictures...
I had the camera sitting on the table... and would reach over to push the button to take a pic when he was "yelling" at me, and he would stop.. pretty good plan I think? LOL.
Still crossing those ankles at all times :).
Can I atleast maybe PAAAY you for a grin? :)
Unusual that there was not a fightin' goin' on over the toy :) By the way, Payton is boss :).
Loved him some melon!!
